The assault resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
